“I began the ESMM program in January, just about 8 weeks after a total hip replacement. My goals were to lose weight and build stamina to celebrate 10 years stable following a diagnosis of malignant brain tumor
by participating in a 5K fundraiser for brain cancer research at MD Anderson in Houston in September.

The focus on diet and movement have brought me from 3,000 steps a day to 10,000 and a 6% body weight loss. The program is focused on ways to accommodate reasonable chances that promote healthy habits, and the length of the program helps reinforce that.

The group leader is very enthusiastic, professional, and positive and facilitates a positive environment and group interactions. This has been a great experience, and I am grateful for our local Age Well office for sponsoring me!”
