“Prior to the Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less program I had been dieting, however my weight plateaued after losing 40 pounds. At 181 pounds, I still had a ways to go to get to my goal weight of 135 pounds. The Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less program was offered through Lancaster, PA Office of the Aging and I decided to sign up for the 15 week session.
Through the Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less program I learned and practiced mindful eating and portion control. The class on sugary drinks made a big impact, as the instructor demonstrated how many teaspoons of sugar were in my favorite soft drink. I started exercising and documenting my diet and activities. Each week covered a different topic. The instructor was knowledgeable and the presentations were always interesting. Through her encouragement, she really kept the class motivated. By the 15th week, I lost 10.6 lbs., 1.6 BMI points and 1.5 inches at my waist. Since the program ended, I’ve continued to implement everything I’ve learned and now two weeks later I’m down another 2 pounds!! I’m back on track again. Thank you for a very worthwhile program.”
