We are thrilled to announce our guest blogger for the day, Heather. Heather recently completed the Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less class and she shares her journey back to doing what she loves. Way to go Heather!

I started the Eat Smart,heather-b Move More, Weigh Less program because I had a little boy in September 2014 and have had a lot of difficulty losing the last 15 pounds of baby weight to get down my pre-baby weight.  I’ve always been pretty physically active, I’ve done 3 full marathons and 6 half marathons as well as some sprint triathlons and had no problem keeping weight down and eating “whatever I wanted”.  Well, after I had this baby I had a whole new body that didn’t want to do any of that again. Plus, it was also hard to find the time to exercise with a new baby.

I heard about Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less through my HR rep and decided to try it because I needed some motivation.  At the same time I also signed up to run the Bull City Race Fest half marathon on October 18 in Durham, NC to get my butt back in gear.  It’s been so nice having this extra encouragement.  I’ve used tracking to help get my weight down and keep myself in check. So far I’ve lost 6 pounds and I finished the half marathon!  It’s the first one I’ve done in two years.  Here is a picture of me running across the finish line with my baby.  It wasn’t my best race, but definitely my favorite because I’ve worked harder for this one than any other race.
